November GBTA Volunteer of the Month
This month, we are recognizing Joe Nishi as GBTA’s Volunteer of the Month. Joe is a long-time member of the meeting and events community and a stand out member of GBTA Canada. He became invested in the success of the committee and GBTA from the outset and has worked tirelessly to develop reverent content & recruit members. Joe has jumped into his role as Chair of the Canadian Meeting and Events Committee with enthusiasm. He has co-led the Canadian Meeting & Event committee to successfully develop the first Canadian committee podcast and meeting content for Canadian events. Joe continues to speak and author articles on various industry topics, leading the way by sharing his unique insight and experience with the business travel industry world-wide.

Travel Risk Management Bootcamp Understanding and Implementing ISO31030
Explore Travel Risk Management in the context of the new ISO 31030 standard and gain the tools and confidence to update and/or create a robust system within your organization to ensure the safety and well-being of travellers. This course, led by travel risk management experts Global Secure Accreditation in conjunction with GBTA, is designed to give practical guidance to anyone involved in building, supporting and managing corporate travel programs.

How Will this Course Be Delivered?
This course will be delivered as a one-day, virtual event with expert speaker presentations, group sessions and individual exercises to complete.
Volunteers Needed
GBTA and ITM are looking for 10-12 US, Canada, LATAM or APAC based volunteers to assist with a Global Ground Transportation RFP Task Force. This RFP is scheduled to be available for 2023, and the 2024 RFP Season.
Do you have expertise as either a buyer or a supplier in the ground transportation segment? We are looking for individuals with Car Rental, Taxi, Private Transportation, Shared ride services, Rail, Coach, OBT, TMC and any additional segments of ground transportation experience.
The project will begin late 2022 and commence in mid 2023, over a 12-week period. The project will consist of a series of calls once every 2 weeks, mixed with some independent work to easily align with personal schedules for your assigned group and duties.
