GBTA Announces Board of Directors Change and Welcomes New Appointment
As a member-led organization, GBTA’s volunteer leaders and especially its Board of Directors play a vital role in guiding and advancing the association to serve its members and the industry. As an organization that prioritizes people, GBTA recognizes that sometimes also brings change.
It is with regret and support that GBTA announces that Will Pinnell has resigned from his position on the GBTA Board of Directors, due to personal health reasons.
Pinnell was elected as an Allied Member at Large in 2019 and re-elected for an additional three-year term in 2022. During his time on the Board, Pinnell served as Board Treasurer and GBTA Allied Leadership Council member. Pinnell was instrumental in co-leading an extensive effort and 30-person member taskforce in 2021, working tirelessly to improve the association through the revision of GBTA’s bylaws.
As outlined in GBTA’s current bylaws (Section 3.3), if a Board member steps down during their term, the GBTA Board President may appoint a member to fill the vacancy and serve the remainder of that term. Bruce McIndoe, founder and President of McIndoe Risk Advisory LLC, has been appointed to the Board and will serve out the remainder of Pinnell’s three-year term until GBTA Board elections take place in the summer of 2024. McIndoe is an active member and received the next highest number of votes during the 2022 Board elections.
Additionally, GBTA Board member, Rosemary Maloney, will take over as Chairperson on the Board Finance Committee. The position of Board Treasurer will remain vacant, pending the 2023 elections.
Denise Truso, GBTA Board President, said, “We would like to express our deep gratitude to Will for his unwavering commitment and service on the Board. We are a stronger and better association because of his contributions, and we wish him all the best. We’d also like to welcome Bruce and thank him for stepping in to serve on the Board and contribute to GBTA’s continued success.”
