New GBTA Podcast
It's Time to Bring Accessibility Center Stage in Business Travel
For years, the business travel industry has looked for guidance to bring more accessibility into travel programs. How do we communicate with travelers who disclose a need? How do we request that information in a confidential way? How can the business travel industry collaborate on making the landscape more accessible for ALL travelers?
In this podcast, the GBTA Foundation explores these questions with the Inclusion & Culture Committee, and shares more information about the release of the new Accessibility Toolkit in the GBTA Hub. Listeners will learn what travel managers, suppliers, TMCs, and champions can do to advocate for making the business travel industry more accessible for all.
GBTA Participates in TSA Event Addressing Busy U.S. Summer Travel
GBTA’s head of Government Affairs, Shane Downey, took part in a press conference on Thursday at LaGuardia Airport in New York hosted by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) featuring TSA Administrator David Pekoske and other guest speakers on preparations for the busiest U.S. summer travel season ever.
“In close coordination with airport, airline and travel partners, we are more than ready to handle this summer’s increased travel volumes,” said Pekoske.
TSA is prepared for the highest passenger volumes the agency has seen at airport security checkpoints nationwide during this summer’s travel season, which begins Memorial Day weekend and runs through Labor Day. From May 23 to May 29, the agency expects to screen more than 18 million passengers and crew.
“The busy summer travel season is not just about leisure travel and vacations – it also continues to be an important time for business travel,” Downey shared in his comments. “Business travel is the tip of the spear. One of GBTA’s key priorities is to help remove the friction of business travel. TSA’s work is vital to the safety of all travelers and GBTA applauds their efforts.”
