Multimodal Digital Mobility Services (MDMS) Supporters call for Greater Ambition
GBTA and a range of interested groups from Europe’s mobility ecosystem led by EU Travel Tech, have written an open letter to the EVP of the EU Commission following the latest news from the Commission to downgrade the ambition of the Regulation on Multimodal Digital Mobility Services (MDMS).
Ten signatories, including GBTA are strongly advocating that the Commission keeps a high level of ambition for this Regulation, keeping the interests of European travelers and EU climate goals at the heart of the initiative. Since the inception of MDMS, supporters have advocated for the EU to ease the booking of (multimodal) transport journeys involving different transport offers across all modes and operators into a single booking, to support the wider European Green Deal ambitions and to encourage the much-needed shift to rail.
With the goal of enticing passengers towards more sustainable travel in mind, representatives are calling for the EU to unleash the potential of MDMS as modal shift and competition enablers.
