Creating Impact Through Action for Business Travel
Earlier this month in Washington, DC, two GBTA events took place in tandem, each representing a vital aspect of the business travel industry. While the GBTA Sustainability Summit and the U.S. Legislative Summit focused on different objectives, both shared a universal mission – to create impact through action.
Both Summits brought together dedicated GBTA members, partners, and stakeholders committed to addressing our industry's challenges and opportunities. Attendees had the chance to explore actionable solutions and contribute to long-term positive change.
Notable speakers, including Carol "Annie" Petsonk from the U.S. Department of Transportation, provided invaluable takeaways on sustainability and climate action. (Hint, the journey didn’t start yesterday.) On the legislative front, we had the honor of visiting the offices of more than a hundred U.S. Senators and Representatives, who listened to GBTA's views via members of their own constituencies. And a few dozen attendees benefited from participating in both events, gaining a double-bonus experience. We extend our gratitude to all attendees and sponsors who supported GBTA and our industry with their voices and presence.
The countdown to Convention 2023 has begun, and we're gearing up for a great event in Dallas, August 13-15. The TED-talk style main stage-in-the-round will again feature top experts, leading voices, and industry insights. Plan your trip to take advantage of everything Convention has to offer – the first Main Stage kicks off on Sunday afternoon and events go through Tuesday evening.
For those interested in being part of the business travel wave in the APAC region, mark your calendars to attend the GBTA APAC Conference in Singapore, September 19-20, co-located with the Worldwide ERC Global Mobility Summit. Enthusiastic and engaged regional buyers have already shown strong interest, and we'll soon announce a new APAC Advisory Board, highlighting GBTA's commitment to serving the region.
This Thursday, GBTA will hold its Global Elections Board of Directors Candidate Forum. Hear directly from the candidates vying for one of five Board seats up for election this year. (Check out the candidates here and register to attend.) Voting by GBTA members takes place July 19-August 11. And on July 25th, GBTA will hold its Annual Business Meeting virtually where we’ll review 2022 and the state of the association, as well as key milestones and what's ahead. (Sign up to attend.)
