Le processus de d\u00e9r\u00e9glementation des compagnies a\u00e9riennes s&#039;est poursuivi jusqu&#039;au d\u00e9but des ann\u00e9es 1980. En 1980, le Conseil de l&#039;a\u00e9ronautique civile (CAB) a ordonn\u00e9 que les commissions des agences de voyages ne soient pas r\u00e9glement\u00e9es et, en 1981, il a commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 autoriser les transporteurs et les clients ou agents individuels \u00e0 n\u00e9gocier des billets \u00e0 prix r\u00e9duit.<\/p>\n<p>Alors que l&#039;ACR envisageait de d\u00e9r\u00e9glementer la vente de billets d&#039;avion, la National Passenger Traffic Association (NPTA) sous le nom de GBTA \u00e9tait connue \u00e0 l&#039;\u00e9poque, &quot;a fait valoir devant le conseil qu&#039;il existait une iniquit\u00e9 majeure dans la mesure o\u00f9 les agences de voyages collectaient des commissions aupr\u00e8s des voyageurs d&#039;affaires tandis que les d\u00e9partements de voyages d&#039;affaires qui remplissaient essentiellement la m\u00eame fonction ne le faisaient pas. (New York Times, 10 d\u00e9cembre 1982.)<\/p>\n<p>Le 1er\u00a0janvier\u00a01985, la NPTA a c\u00e9l\u00e9br\u00e9 victorieusement l&#039;entr\u00e9e en vigueur de la d\u00e9r\u00e9glementation de l&#039;industrie des agences de voyages &quot;offrant aux entreprises non seulement une r\u00e9duction des d\u00e9penses de voyage et un grand contr\u00f4le sur les voyages d&#039;affaires, mais aussi la possibilit\u00e9 de transformer les services de voyages en profit&quot;. centres \u00bb (The New York Times, 5 mars 1985.)<\/p>\n<p>Minutes du 17<sup>e<\/sup> La conf\u00e9rence annuelle de la NPTA tenue en 1985 au Hilton de New York a not\u00e9 que tous les stands d&#039;exposition avaient \u00e9t\u00e9 vendus, un total de 304, et que certains exposants avaient d\u00fb \u00eatre refus\u00e9s. Elle a \u00e9t\u00e9 officiellement \u00e9lue pr\u00e9sidente du CPC en 1986. Au cours de son mandat, les statuts de la NPTA ont \u00e9t\u00e9 modifi\u00e9s pour permettre au pr\u00e9sident du CPC d&#039;occuper un si\u00e8ge sans droit de vote au conseil d&#039;administration de l&#039;Association.
