SAF Is Gaining Momentum — But Barriers Remain

New Insights Report from the GBTA Foundation

New findings from the GBTA Foundation’s Sustainability Acceleration Challenge show that Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) adoption in business travel is gaining momentum, led by global travel programs with Net Zero commitments. These early adopters are leveraging strong emissions management, internal carbon pricing, and flexible purchasing models to move forward.

At the same time, the research highlights key challenges limiting broader uptake, including cost sensitivity, uncertainty around accounting standards, and limited internal readiness across many organizations.

The SAF Insights Report offers practical guidance and real‑world examples of how leading companies are investing in SAF and using it as a critical near‑term decarbonization lever across the travel value chain.
