Education, Connection and Inclusivity Help Put The “G” in Global Business Travel

For our GBTA team and me, these current weeks find us traveling the globe with purpose – for advocacy, education and events.

In Brussels, along with GBTA members we met with European Commission leaders and policy experts to share our recently released policy paper: "Shaping the Future of Europe via Business Travel Policy Priorities for the EU 2024-2029 Agenda."

Then it was off to Mexico City to mark the 16th year of the GBTA LATAM Conference. Over 460 industry professionals gathered from across the region – nearly 50% were buyers – and representing 205 companies. A great program and speaker line-up, local language presentations plus simultaneous translation via headsets meant a truly inclusive experience for all who attended. The GBTA Broadcast Studio also returned to the LATAM conference and you can check out the event photo gallery as well.

Now back in the US, later this week I’ll be participating in a fireside chat with Southwest Airlines’ Dave Harvey on the outlook for business travel at the 2024 Texas Education Day. This event brings together four of GBTA’s largest chapters and is hosted this year by the Dallas-Fort Worth chapter in what will be a day of learning, collaboration and networking.

And looking ahead, our GBTA Canada Conference (in Toronto next week) and GBTA APAC Conference (in Singapore in May), are where global business travel insights will converge with regional expertise, forecasts, commentary and connection. I hope you can join us at one or both events!

When I reflect on where we’ve been and where we’re headed, it truly does “take a village” to accomplish what we do at GBTA. A special thank you to all our loyal members – and especially our volunteers – worldwide. It is because of your contributions that we can enable programs, research, advocacy and more to benefit our entire industry community. (Not a member? Check out the many benefits that could be yours − and help us continue to put the “G” in GBTA.)

See you soon in a market near you,
Suzanne
