GBTA Annual Business Meeting Set for July 8 – Register Now
Join GBTA for its upcoming Annual Business Meeting* taking place virtually on July 8 at 11am ET and hosted by GBTA CEO, Suzanne Neufang, and Board President, Rosemary Maloney.
This annual session will provide a recap of GBTA’s financials for 2025 along with key metrics, milestones and progress spotlights. Attendees will also gain valuable insight into GBTA’s continued investments in its core mission, programs, people and advocacy efforts, as well as a look at what’s ahead for 2026 and beyond.
The meeting will also feature the results of the 2026 GBTA Board of Directors election , revealing the newly elected leaders for five open seats who will help guide the association’s strategic direction. Election voting concludes on July 7.

Business Travel by the Numbers
GBTA U.S. Economic Impact Study – Read the Report
Business travel is a core contributor to the U.S. economy, supporting jobs, generating tax revenue, and driving economic activity across industries and regions. The recently released GBTA U.S. Economic Impact Study provides a data-backed view of that impact, including national trends and state-level insights that show how business travel contributes to local economies across the country. Here’s a snapshot of the data in the report:
Meetings, conventions and events drove $217.8 billion in U.S. business travel spending, representing 40.4% of total spending in 2024 and highlighting the expanding role of in-person group meetings in the sector’s total economic impact.
These expenditures—ranging from venue rental and food and beverage to production and event management—reflect the critical role of in-person collaboration in driving commerce and innovation. Operational spending for meetings includes:
