GBTA Acceleration Challenge
What Leading Travel Programs are Doing Differently

Sustainable procurement is important – but leading programs know it is only one part of a broader strategy.

The strongest programs are connecting procurement decisions to everyday travel choices, supplier collaboration, emissions measurement, and policy design.

Today, many organizations are already building that foundation:

  • 84% track emissions
  • 74% report on emissions
  • 78% implement sustainable travel policies
  • 73% use booking features that support more sustainable choices

And procurement is becoming more intentional at every stage:

  • 61% include sustainability questions in RFPs
  • 38% use climate criteria in supplier selection 32% include sustainability clauses in supplier contracts

That is what progress looks like: moving from standalone commitments to practical decisions built into the travel program.

- Access the latest sustainable procurement resources: Insights Report, Playbook, and Standards

- Join the GBTA Acceleration Challenge to benchmark your business travel program sustainability across four different areas including the supplier engagement

Some Convention moments make it into the recap.

The most valuable ones usually do not.

They happen in the conversation after a session.
In the introduction that leads to a new partnership.
In the idea shared between peers who are solving the same challenge.
In the meeting that changes the direction of a travel program.

GBTA Convention 2026 brings the global business travel community together in Chicago for three days of education, connection and business that cannot be fully experienced from the sidelines. You can read the highlights later...
