Driving Global Business Travel Forward Through Connection and Insights
Like many of you, I’m still catching my breath! Just two weeks ago at the GBTA Convention 2025, we welcomed nearly 5,400 attendees—including 1,141 buyers—from 52 countries. It included 372 exhibitors and dozens of dedicated member-volunteers, and once again proved to be the world’s largest and most impactful gathering of the global business travel community. To everyone who joined us: thank you. Your participation is what made this event so powerful. (And – if you attended, please take a moment to complete the emailed survey. Your feedback is critical.)
But Convention is more than just a single event – it’s an unmatched opportunity where hundreds of moments of connection and learning take place. It’s where GBTA’s mission comes to life through meaningful engagement, including the unveiling of significant research and thought leadership to inform and empower our industry.
Amongst the highlights was the release of the 17th edition of the GBTA Global Business Travel Index Outlook report. This latest five-year forecast signals steady growth ahead for business travel while also acknowledging potential effects of current trade policy uncertainty and economic risk. (Download the BTI™ Executive Summary and watch the launch video. GBTA members have exclusive access to the full report.)
The latest CWT/GBTA Global Business Travel Pricing Forecast was also released. The report anticipates modest annual fluctuations in airfares, hotel rates and ground transportation costs into 2026, while also presenting scenarios for business-as-usual as well as recessionary circumstances.
Prior to Convention, we also published our latest industry sentiment poll gauging the impact of U.S. government actions, as well as “ROI of Business Travel” reports for the U.S. and UK – further expanding our understanding of the value and impact of business travel.
GBTA’s research initiatives – including those made possible with the support of partners such as Visa, CWT and ASTA – are designed to help inform, inspire, and plan for what’s next. It’s through insights and learning that we will continue to shape the future – within our organizations and collectively for our $1.57 trillion industry.
As we move into the remainder of 2025, the momentum continues. We know you’re focused on achieving your annual goals while also preparing for 2026. GBTA remains committed to delivering timely insights—from hot topics and economic forecasts to evolving industry sentiment—to help you navigate what’s ahead.
And there’s a lot more in-person connection on the agenda around the world. Check out the GBTA Events page for upcoming onsite conferences and events as well as virtual learning sessions, webinars and more.
With your continued engagement, GBTA will keep driving the conversations, insights and innovations to help move our industry forward.
