Inspired, United and Ready for the Momentum Ahead for Business Travel
The last few weeks have been an inspiring whirlwind at GBTA. As our GBTA Team returns after a post-Convention break, we continue to reflect on the productive days spent together in Atlanta last month as a global business travel community.
The numbers reflect an impressive story for GBTA Convention 2024: 5,400 registered attendees from over 50 countries, over 1,100 travel buyers from more than 600 companies, 310 exhibitors, 200 presenters and 86 peer-reviewed education sessions. Of course, a key driver behind the success of any GBTA Convention has always been the effort and enthusiasm of so many of you who bring your innovation, expertise, insights and teams from within the U.S. and around the world.
Finding ourselves in the midst of an unexpected global tech disruption in the days preceding the convention provided real-time proof points of the value of all managed corporate travel programs. Our industry may have been delayed a bit, but we were not deterred. The attendance rate onsite at this year’s GBTA Convention was consistently as high as in years past. This shows the resilience of our industry professionals – you! – and the importance of business travel overall.
The 2024 GBTA Convention again proved itself an unmatched opportunity to reflect, connect, learn and be inspired. Thank you again to our attendees, suppliers, sponsors and partners who made it all possible – it’s you who inspire us. If you attended, we hope you are taking full advantage of continued access to the education programming via the event app and are sharing your learnings and takeaways with your teams. Non-attending GBTA members will have access to all Convention education content in the GBTA Hub starting in October. And everyone can check out the news and executive interviews from Media Day and Broadcast Studio, as well as the event photo gallery.
Our Convention never marks an end – rather, it serves as the beginning of what’s next. There’s a third of the calendar year still ahead and a busy business travel and events season to come for our sector.
We’re also heading into a new season for GBTA Committees, many who are welcoming new volunteer leaders. Thank you to our Committee Chairs and Vice Chairs along with hundreds of dedicated volunteers who step up to serve and tackle so many important areas critical to our industry. (Visit the GBTA Committees page to find out more and how you can get involved.)
At GBTA we are gearing up to gather with you at more upcoming events in 2024 including Business Travel Forums in Latin America and Canada, the WINiT Summit and Gala in New York, and the GBTA + VDR Conference 2024 in Partnership with the Nordic Business Travel Associations and the GBTA Sustainability Summit in Copenhagen.
