New Survey Shows Impact of Travel Disruption
(SOURCE: THE BUSINESS TRAVEL MAGAZINE, GBTA FEATURED)

UK businesses are spending more than £1.6 billion annually on mitigating the fallout from travel disruption, according to a report out this week from TravePerk.

It says the cost represents roughly 4% of the UK’s total business travel budget, which is projected at £45.6 billion by the GBTA.

The report, based on a survey of 2,000 business travellers from the UK, as well as a further 5,000 globally, found that for the UK, weather-related events caused setbacks for 42% of business travellers, double that of 2023.

GBTA Commends MEP Nikolina Brnjac with 2025 Navigator Award for Commitment to Sustainable Business Travel In Europe

GBTA has awarded its prestigious 2025 “GBTA Navigator Award” to Member of the European Parliament Nikolina Brnjac (EPP, Croatia) for her advocacy contributions to the business travel industry.

Presented during the Tourism 365 conference yesterday in Zagreb, Croatia, Suzanne Neufang, CEO at GBTA, said, “We are happy to present this truly well-deserved Navigator Award to MEP Brnjac, who has proven to be a key ally and reliable supporter of resilient business travel.”

“As the European Parliament starts the second year of its current mandate, policymakers like MEP Brnjac are essential in providing a voice to business travelers and enabling long-term, viable travel options for all, in Europe and beyond. Ms Brnjac is a great example of elected officials who have proven to be trendsetters and strong champions of our industry.”
