Pacing Your Company’s Unique Journey Toward More Sustainable Business Travel
As our industry continues on the path toward more sustainable business travel, it’s crucial to collectively understand where our companies stand today, in order to reach our goal of net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. That's the driving force behind the GBTA Sustainability Acceleration Challenge − and today is the last chance for travel managers to participate.
If you haven’t yet, please take the assessment today (it’s open until midnight Pacific Time). You'll be among GBTA’s "many voices" – and the over 200 organizations to date – who have taken up the Acceleration Challenge for a more sustainable future for our industry and their own travel programs.
The Challenge will provide a first-of-its-kind global benchmark as well as "maturity scoring" for individual companies around sustainable practices already adopted. By completing the assessment here, you’ll receive results outlining where your organization stands on reducing emissions from your travel program, as well as in comparison to the aggregated scores of peer companies in your industry sector. We look forward to sharing the global benchmarking results – along with an interactive, online dashboard for all to access – at the 2024 GBTA Sustainability Summit on November 4th in Copenhagen.
Another way GBTA gathers and shares insights from across our industry is via our ongoing global outlook polls. Our October poll survey is now open and we encourage suppliers, buyers and our other constituents to take it here this week. It only takes a few minutes to provide your expert feedback on the hot topics in business travel in 2024 and your outlook for 2025. Your participation in GBTA's ongoing research is greatly appreciated and enables us to bring valuable, actionable insights to our global community, consumer and trade media, and of course local, national and regional policy makers.
I’m also super excited that on October 24th, the industry community will be converging for the GBTA WINiT Summit. This will be a day of connection, discussion, inspiration and learning aligned with WINiT's mission of career advancement for women in the travel industry and professional 1:1 mentorship for all. With the retro-vintage TWA Hotel at JFK-New York as the perfect backdrop for the event, WINiT will mark its 10-year anniversary by looking back and, most importantly ahead, at the state of women professionals in business travel. (There are still just a few tables and individual seats available for the evening’s WINiT Gala which celebrates achievements and supports WINiT's year-round programming.) And speaking of achievements, a big congratulations to all the “2024 WINiT Top 50” Award recipients this year!
Together we can take action to ensure a more sustainable and equitable future for business travel. Your support AND participation make all the difference!
