Daily News Brief – January 25, 2021
Dave Hilfman’s Monday Memo to GBTA Members
I can’t believe we’re already nearing the end of January. To me, it feels like we’ve experienced about a year of activity in one month. Not sure about you but I’m just trying to catch my breath!
Here in the U.S., we’ve seen the inauguration of a new president and vice president, the ushering in of the Biden/Harris administration, and they are already making their mark on our industry.
On his first day in office, President Joe Biden issued an Executive Order on Promoting COVID-19 Safety in Domestic and International Travel, which includes a temporary federal mandate requiring face coverings be worn on all domestic modes of public transportation; and the implementation of policies requiring international air travelers to produce a negative COVID-19 test prior to departing for the U.S. and to comply with CDC guidelines for self-isolation and self-quarantine upon arrival.
