GBTA Calls on TravelSky to Rescind Action Discontinuing Sale of Domestic China Flights via Any GDS Partner

Alexandria, VA, 5 September 2016 – The announcement of TravelSky’s unilateral decision to discontinue the sale of domestic China flights on TravelSky-hosted carriers via any GDS partner (i.e. Sabre, Travelport, Amadeus) is a major setback for managed travel programs across the country.

Chinese companies rely on many different partners and solutions to ensure their travel programs are as efficient and price sensitive as possible. This short-notice mandate to shift all bookings to TravelSky will negatively impact those efforts. Additionally, this move will cause booking confusion and lost revenue for these Chinese airlines.

GBTA calls on TravelSky to rescind this action immediately.
