What’s the best advice you’ve been given in your career?
The best advice I ever received was, “you spend every day in your current role applying for your next.” This advice encourages me to not limit myself based on title or responsibilities and motivates me to consistently stretch out of my comfort zone. It has served me well to this point and will continue to be my guide.
Why is the existence of a group like WINiT important in the industry?
While great strides have been made to elevate women in travel and leadership, women often remain underrepresented, especially in senior leadership roles. WINiT creates a platform for women to network, elevate each other, and be highlighted across the entire travel industry. WINiT’s spotlight on successful women is helping to pave the way for future female leaders in our industry.
Who or what inspires you to continue working hard, even on the most challenging days?
My husband and I are raising three daughters (ages 9, 12, 16) and over the past year, I moved to working from home while my girls navigated from school to home, due to COVID. I had an amazing opportunity to eat lunch with them most days, and experiencing their positive spirit, resilient perspectives, and just plain fun personalities on a daily basis was inspiring. My family creates a needed balance and inspires me to continue to work hard each and every day, even during the most challenging days.
