Author Shari Harley to Keynote First Timers Luncheon at GBTA Convention 2016

The First-Time Attendee Orientation & Luncheon is always one of my favorite parts of Convention. Attending a conference for the first time can be intimidating for anyone, especially when it involves 7,000 attendees and a jam-packed conference schedule. This lunch does away with the intimidation factor though, showing first-timers that they are not alone and giving them advice on how to successfully navigate their first Convention experience.

Hundreds show up for the lunch and at each table we make sure to have an industry veteran who can show them the ropes and make them feel more comfortable. In addition to navigating Convention, they will also learn the ins and outs of the benefits of GBTA membership. GBTA Board members will provide an overview of the world class resources being a GBTA member offers including networking, education, advocacy, industry research and career advancement, and will also share how GBTA has helped grow their careers.

In addition, first-time attendees will be treated to a talented featured speaker, Shari Harley. Shari is the founder and president of Candid Culture. She also authored the book, How to Say Anything to Anyone, and is known globally as an engaging, funny, content-rich business speaker. Her international training firm, Candid Culture, is geared toward making it easier to tell the truth at work. Shari is bringing candor back to the workplace.

Who says learning cannot also be fun and interesting? First timers are sure to enjoy Shari’s engaging presentation. I hope you can join us for the luncheon on Sunday, July 17 from 11:30am – 1pm.
