Call for Nominations for GBTA Board Now Through May 27th

The call for Nominations will open on Thursday, May 6. All eligible members will receive an email from Election Services with the link to nominate a candidate.

Instructions for nomination:

• You may nominate yourself.
• You may nominate as many or as few candidates as you like, but please use one form per nomination.
• Nominate only those you have personally contacted, who have agreed to run for election and have received any necessary approvals to run.
• Your name is required on the nomination form.
• Nominations must be received by Thursday, May 27 2021, no later than 5:00pm (Eastern).

With the passage of Bylaw Set 1, a candidate must meet the following requirements.

Vice President and President: Any Direct Member who has been an Active Member for the last two (2) consecutive years and has at least one (1) year of service to the Association, a local chapter thereof, or other global travel organization is eligible to be nominated to serve as President or Vice President. Any Active Member of the Association may nominate a qualified Direct Member to be President or Vice President.

Board of Directors: Any Member who has been an Active Member for the last (1) year and has at least one (1) year of service to the Association, a local chapter thereof, or other global travel organization is eligible to be nominated to serve as a Director. Any Active Member of the Association may nominate a qualified Member to be a Director.

Please note: Any other method of submission of the nomination form will not be accepted.

Vacancies for the 2021 GBTA Board of Directors will depend on the outcome of the Bylaw Set 2 vote to be completed on May 21, 2021.

Open Positions

• GBTA President (1) – for a term of two years
• GBTA Vice President (1) – for a term of two years
• Direct Seats: Under current Bylaws, Three (3) Direct At-Large Seats are open;
  • Upon Bylaw Set 2 vote approval (concluding May 21);
    • One (1) Regional EU, One (1) Regional Canadian, and One (1) At Large Seat. (Terms will be dependent on Bylaw Set 2 vote outcome.)
  • Allied Seats: Under current Bylaws, One (1) At-Large Seat;
    • Upon Bylaw Set 2 vote approval (concluding May 21);
      • Three (3) Allied Seats. (Terms dependent on Bylaw Set 2 vote outcome).
