GBTA Executive Director Honored with Inaugural SPOKEies® Award
McCormick Named Top Spokesperson in Non-Profit Trade Associations
Alexandria, VA (May 2, 2018) – The Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) – the voice of the global business travel industry – is pleased to announce that Executive Director and COO Michael W. McCormick has been named an inaugural SPOKEies® Award winner. McCormick was named the top spokesperson in the Non-Profit Trade Association Category.
The SPOKEies® are the first awards program to honor the best in-house spokespeople representing brands, non-profits and corporations. The mission behind the SPOKEies® is to acknowledge and reward leaders who communicate honestly and effectively on behalf of their organizations. The winners were judged based on their ability to achieve organizational goals, creativity, trust and authenticity as a spokesperson.
“We are pleased to see Mike receive this honor as it reflects GBTA’s ability to deliver its message on the importance of business travel to our global economy,” said GBTA President Christle Johnson. “Mike truly knows the industry and the issues we face. He does a great job of working with the GBTA Board of Directors to execute the necessary directives to meet our members’ needs – allowing him to be an effective voice on their behalf.”
McCormick will join other winners to accept the award and share their advice with the communications community in New York City on May 3, 2018 on a live multi-channel video stream called “Spokesperson Secrets to Build Your Brand.”
