With so many ways to get connected, mobile is becoming increasingly relevant in the corporate space, and travel professionals are beginning to assess their mobile travel strategies, or lack thereof.
To educate organizations on the best practices for successful implementation of a mobile travel strategy, the GBTA Foundation and the Carlson Family Foundation held a webinar called A Mobile Effect: Travel Programs and Setting a Clear Mobile Strategy.
CWT Solutions Group Americas’ Data Insight Manager Dominique Betancourt and GBTA Foundation Director of Research Monica Sanchez discussed how companies can start putting a holistic mobile travel strategy in place, namely by recognizing the processes already in use, identifying departments involved in the mobile policy decision making, and reviewing limitations.
A mobile travel strategy is more than just an app – companies must look broadly at how pieces of their program can come together in the mobile environment and drive engagement and compliance. A recent study by the GBTA Foundation and the Carlson Family Foundation finds only one-third of travel programs have implemented a mobile strategy.
Betancourt and Sanchez shared other findings from the study, including why travel programs are lacking mobile strategies, the opportunities and challenges involved regarding implementation, types of apps and ways they can be used, and more.
