A continued regional escalation between Iran and the United States–Israel alliance has evolved into a prolonged disruption impacting global travel, transportation, and business operations. Since the initial escalation in late February, sustained military activity, infrastructure impacts, and transportation instability have extended the scope of risk across the Middle East and beyond.

GBTA’s Risk Committee e a GBTA Transportation Committee collaborated to bring the latest developments, implications for corporate travel and mobility programmes, and recommended actions for navigating ongoing disruption.

  • Maritime and energy disruptions, particularly in the Strait of Hormuz, contributing to fuel volatility and supply concerns
  • Rising jet fuel costs and increased pressure on travel pricing and availability across regions
  • Early signs of stabilization following diplomatic engagement, though conditions remain volatile and subject to rapid change

Recommended Actions for Travel and Mobility Programmes:

  • Plan for continued disruption and limited predictability across air travel and transit hubs
  • Monitor airline routing, availability, and pricing fluctuations closely
  • Reassess travel policies to allow for flexibility in response to changing conditions
  • Strengthen duty of care for travelers, including those in transit locations
  • Review supplier contingency plans and escalation protocols

  • Communicate proactively with travellers to support awareness and decision-making
